Overall Responsibilities

Develop and recommend measures for assuring personnel safety, and to monitor and/or anticipate hazardous and unsafe situations. Develop, implement and maintain company’s HSEQ program. Ensure HSEQ training, toolbox talk, compliance tracking, management & control on HSEQ at project site.

Detailed Duties

  • Promote & coordinate occupational health and safety systems with O&M and develop safer and healthier ways of working.
  • Inspect & identify hazards at workplaces and workplace equipment to ensure they meet safety regulations and to report hazards and risks.
  • Inspect & identify gaps on company established IMS system and issue non-conformance report and corrective action.
  • Follow-up closure of corrective action and to maintain record on file.
  • Conduct Internal Audit as per IMS/ISO requirement
  • Monitor & ensure that workplaces conform to company safety procedures and standards.
  • Communicate & coordinate with Engineering project management, engineers and other professionals to ensure the safety of project sites and the work practices.
  • Advice on accident prevention and occupational health to engineering project management and plant operation employees.
  • Conducts regular monitoring on personal protective equipment (PPE) used at workplaces according to safety regulations & company policy.
  • Issue Safety Violation Notice (SVN) to employees who is not following & complying on company safety policy.
  • Identify dangerous materials or substances used on site and ensure compliance to correct & proper storage of chemicals and implement appropriate control measures to prevent incident.
  • Ensure that all employees is aware of, and complies with, all legislation relating to its duty of care, workplace activities and the use of its plant, equipment and substances.
  • Record and report accidents/incidents, injuries and health issues and conduct follow-up investigation to determine the root cause and corrective action.
  • Conduct tool box talks & internal training sessions at site.
  • Conducts periodic emergency drill on site & coordinate emergency procedures, confined space rescues, firefighting and first aid crews with O&M.
  • Report & communicate frequently with HSEQ Manager to report on the status of occupational health and safety programs of the project.
  • Contribute & assist in developing occupational health and safety systems, including policies, procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Carry out regular HSE toolbox talks to the O&M staff.
  • Conduct regular SITE inspections and prepare reports for corrective actions.
  • Check and advice on each work plan or procedure for HSE prior to WORK commencement.
  • Act in the capacity of secretary to HSE Committee
  • Issuance of Hot/Cold work permits, and any other permits, for non-routine work.
  • If HSE violations are determined high risk then stop the work as necessary.
  • Coordinate with any subcontractors or maintenance providers on HSE matters.


Educational Training & Certification

  1. Essential – Bachelor Degree or Diploma as minimum and minimum of 5 years of experience
  2. Desirable – Acquired training certifications from the following; OSHA/IOSH/NEBOSH Certifications

Experience & Skills

  1. Good oral and written communication skills and organizational skills.
  2. Good analytical, human relations and training skills. Computer proficiency.
  3. Ability to maintain effective work relationships.
  4. Some knowledge of workplace safety and health issues.
  5. Ability to conduct operational process audit on safety and risk assessment on site
  6. Ability to conduct HSEQ trainings on site.

NEBOSH Interview

 

Tips  for NEBOSH  Interview

The purpose of interview is just to check that student has basic concepts of  HSE, no marking of interview.

Only three questions from paper will be discussed.For interview just read again questions of your paper and take it easy.

Interview is conducted by your NEBOSH Trainer, usually.

Keep your ID Card or passport with you at interview time and show before camera when examiner asked.

You should be alone in room without any support.

If you using Zoom first time then have a practice to use it before interview.

Interview will be of 15-20 minutes  online with Zoom or Whatsapp video call.

If interview day and time do not suits to you , it can be re-scheduled.

If you do not reply all three questions then your case can be highlighted in front of NEBOSH

Interview will be of those who appeared in IG1 paper.Even if you are re-sitting in paper, you should take interview again.

Interview will be of 10-15 minutes  online with Zoom or whatsApp video call.
